About six months ago or so I went to Joshua Tree with my good ol’ friend Peter. It was a fun trip. I was looking at some of the photos and decided to post a couple. The top picture, believe it or not, is the moon rising, not the sun setting. It looked 10x better in person; the sky was a beautiful red and orange. The bottom picture was taken the night before, not much story to it. If you are friends with me on Facebook, check out some more pics here.
Top picture: Canon 5D – 24mm – f/4 – 30s – ISO1600 – Tripod
Bottom picture: Canon 5D – 24mm – f/2.8 – 52s – ISO200 – Tripod

Both excellent pictures. You should also point out that while the moon was rising we could see the milky way clearly. You can see it in the picture too. That was maybe the most fun trip I ever went on.
Yes. I agree on both accounts. It was a very fun trip and it was crazy being able to see the Milky Way. Even in Mammoth at 1am after hiking a half mile up a hill when there was no visible light I couldn’t see the Milky Way.
